Songkran Thai New Year – April 2014

13 to15 April 2014

There are few cities like Bangkok – vibrant in colour and overwhelming in spirit – and this 11-13 April, expect to take it to the next level as Song Kran 8 takes over the city!

Songkran is a Thai traditional New Year celebration which starts on April 13 every year and lasts for 3 days. Sometimes referred to as the “Water Festival” , as it is believed that water will wash away bad luck, it is not unusual to find people soaking wet running through the streets celebrating the new year.

Therefore, be sure to catch the 3-day long gay circuit dance festival to celebrate this time of year and meander through the streets outside of Silom and take in the gay bars and all of the parties that keep Bangkok going strong year after year!
